Mural for Barrio Action in El Sereno

These are photos documenting my 2011 collaboration with youth of Los Angeles for Barrio Action in the community of El Sereno. I lived and attended El Sereno Jr. High when I was young, so it was important for me to give back some art and the opportunity for local youth to create something positive in the barrio.

Murals and tattoo are the oldest art forms. As a teen I made murals on the walls of my bedroom. Thanks to the teachings of Chicano/a Studies came to understand and appreciate the urban art in our community and the legacy of the Mexican and Chicano/a mural movements in East Los Angeles.
